The Gem County Historical Museum was first opened in 1973 with the primary focus of interpreting the lives of people in early Emmett. Chronicled through a large collection of photographs and full sized displays of a general store, a turn of the century parlor, a laundry room, and a combined doctorís and dentistís office, early inhabitants of Emmett are explored beginning with the Native Americans who first inhabited the land, the trappers and miners who also contributed to the growth of the area, the settlers who forged the irrigation system and the fruit industry.
